K.C. Chesshire, age 54, of Holt, passed away on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at a local hospital. K.C. was born June 24, 1954, in Texas. He moved to Holt 15 years ago from Pensacola. He worked with the Holt Volunteer Fire Department, North Okaloosa Fire Department, Dorcas Fire Department and as an EMT with Life Guard. K.C. was a Vietnam veteran where he received the Bronze Star, Silver Star, and three Purple Hearts. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus where he was a Grand Knight.
K.C. was preceded in death by his parents William and Joan Martin and Kenneth Chesshire Sr. and a daughter Shawna Chesshire. Survivors include his wife of 20 years Eileene Chesshire of Holt. A son Larry Chesshire of New York and a daughter Tiffany Chesshire of Texas. Three step sons: Michael Woodard of Holt, Kenneth and Pat Woodard of Holt, and Gene and Nancy Woodard of Fort Walton Beach. Grandchildren: Kim, Rebecca, Kelly and great grandchildren Chris, Pattie and Nick.
A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. The funeral for K.C. will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with burial to follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens in Pensacola, Fla.
