Harry A. Applegate, 64, of 301 Spruce-av, father of City Solicitor Walter M. Applegate and Dr. William A. Applegate, and life-long resident of Sharon, died at 3:25 a.m. today in Buhl hospital after an illness of two years' duration.

Mr. Applegate was born in Sharon on Dec. 7, 1877, a son of Alderman W. C., and Mary Reno Applegate. He resided here all his life and has been very active in civic affairs.

Mr. Applegate was a veteran of the Spanish-American war. He was a member of the Central Christian church, I. O. O. F. lodge of Sharon, Salem-Heilman camp, United Spanish War Veterans, and Union Lodge 4, Masonic Order of Morgantown, W. Va. His death has caused deep regret among many friends.

His wife, Elizabeth M. Applegate, preceded him in death on Feb. 21, 1936.

Surviving are his two sons of Sharon; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Applegate of Sharon; three brothers, Charles F., Fred and Salem, all of Sharon. Four grandchildren also survive.
