George Almy, at one time a resident of Collins, died last week at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Conroy, in Lyons, at the age of 71.

Mr. Almy had been in ill health for the past year, and nine weeks ago underwent an operation at the U. B. A. hospital in Grand Rapids. The benefit received was only slight, however, and for the past three weeks Mr. Almy had failed rapidly.

He was born in Steuben county, New York, and served throughout the civil war as a member of the New York volunteers.

Three sons, George and Elmer of Ionia, and Lyman Almy of Collins survive.
