Margaret was born in Superior, Colorado on January 12, 1919. She had two brothers that preceded her in death at young ages. She lived with her mother in Colorado Springs while going to and graduating from St. Mary's High School. She then attended Blair Business College, all the while working at the telephone company. She met Dennis and they were married in 1939. Margaret became Chief Operator for AT&T until her retirement. She was called back into active duty by The Broadmoor Hotel to run the switchboard at the new expansion Broodmoor West, where she worked for a time and the retired again. She owned a day care business which kept her and her mother busy 24/7 for several years. Not one to just stay at home, Margaret volunteered for many, many years doing different things. From checking the newborn's hearing in the nursery at Penrose St. Francis Hospital, to helping children learn to read at Lincoln Elementary School. Up until a year ago, Margaret helped the Telephone Pioneers (retired telephone operators) make ?hug a bears? that were given to the Pediatric Unit of the hospital and to the police department for children who are in need of a HUG! Rosary is scheduled for Friday, August 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., at the Corpis Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
