Edna Arlene Arnett, age 82, of Peoria passed away at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria.
She was born on Oct. 12, 1926, in Fairbury, Ill., to Jacob and Sara Waggoner Baer. Edna married Paul Nelson Arnett on Feb. 3, 1946, in Peoria. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Edna was primarily a homemaker for most of her life, but was employed as a school bus driver for the Dunlap School District prior to retirement.
Edna is survived by her children, Nickolas (Suzanne) Arnett of Charlotte, N.C., Jennifer L. (Steven) Downard of Peoria, Rollin R. (Rose) Arnett of Princeville, Ill., Nancy J. (Mike) Sudduth of Basehor, Kan., Clint E. Arnett of Belleview, Ill., Colleen E. (Mike) Wade of Elmwood, Ill., Lisa A. (Tim) Kurtz of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Jeffrey A. Arnett of Creve Coeur, Ill.; her 23 grandchildren; her 26 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Eunice Roseboom, Margaret Schlump, Doris (Walt) Davis, Wilma Perham and Katy (George) Hoerr, all of Peoria; her brother, Roy Baer of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mildred Staker; and three grandsons, Andrew and Joshua Arnett and T. Bryan Kurtz.
Funeral services for Edna will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
