Herman C. Jaeger, 74, died at 10 a.m. today at his home in Maribel after a lingering illness.
Burial will take place Tuesday in Maribel after services at 1 p.m. from the Knutson funeral home in Denmark and at 2 p.m. from St. John's Lutheran church at Maribel. The Rev. Gerhardt Struck will officiate.
Mr. Jaeger was born March 19, 1868, at Cooperstown, where he lived for most of his life. He was married in 1914 to Martha Meyers, and with her came to live in Maribel at the time of his retirement from farming 13 years ago.
Survivors are Mrs. Jaeger, 10 children, 24 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, as well as three sisters. The daughters are Mrs. Theodore Salsider of Green Bay, Mrs. Hugo Gauger of Manitowoc, and Mrs. Richard Becker, Mrs. Frank Feil and Mrs. Lester Krueger, all of Maribel; sons are Louis and Alfred of Maribel, Walter of Manitowoc, Albert of Mishicot and a stepson, George F. Meyers of Manitowoc.
The three surviving sisters are Mrs. Bertha Kempfert and Mrs. William Schley of Maribel and Mrs. Amelia Gehrke of Milwaukee.
