"Junior" had lived in the Bixby community virtually all of his life. He was a graduate of Bixby High School and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He worked in the oilfields as a roustabout, was a salesman for the Ford Place from 1967 to 1979, owned the Leonard Store and retired as a dispatcher for Watkins Sand Co. He was active in his community and served as a volunteer fireman as well as a member of the Bixby Optimist Club and the Bixby Quarterback Club.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 63 years, Margie Madeline (Howell) Bell whom he married on March 31, 1945 in Sapulpa as well as 1 daughter; Janice Gaye Bowlin of Leonard, 1 son; Sammy Joe Bell of Tacoma, Washington, 4 grandchildren; Tracy John Bell, Lindsay Ann Bell, T.J. Bowlin & Nikki Renee Bowlin and several other relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers; Bill & Don Bell.
Casket bearers were Condell Pollard, Adrian Watkins, Orville Christianson, Milton "Dutch Ausmus, Charles Roberts & Garland Shepherd. Honorary bearers were George Massey & Frank Watkins.
