Funeral services for George Mathis Hughes Jr., 72, of Delhi were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 18 in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.Interment was in Crowville Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. Theo Eldridge and the Rev. Lee Smith officiating.He was a retired farmer.Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Eldridge Hughes, Crowville; one son, Johnny Hughes, Crowville; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Joyce Hughes, Hendersonville, Tenn.; one brother, Lacy Hughes, Forest; three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Prestridge, Crowville, Mrs. Alma Bennett, Forest, and Mrs. Maude Lacy, Delhi; four grandchildren.Pallbearers were Charles Hixon, Sharon Chapman, Don Parker, Oran Lewis.
