Christian Ahrenbeck was born in Germany to Heinrich Friederich 'Bernhard' Ahrenbeck and Wilhelmina Martens Ahrenbeck. Christian Ahrenbeck arrived in Galveston, Texas on the Barque J. W. Buddecke on 1 Jan 1853. He joined his family in the Spring Branch section of Houston. Christian married Dorothea Schmidt in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church and their three children were baptized there. Christian eventually settled in Hempstead, Texas, along with his brothers, Daniel Ahrenbeck, and Wilhelm (William) Ahrenbeck, and sister, Minnie Ahrenbeck Hauser. Another brother, John Bernhard Ahrenbeck, settled in Waco, Texas.

Christian and his wife both died in the Yellow fever epidemic of 1867 and are buried in unknown graves, probably in either Hempstead or Navasota, Texas.
