Carey Cecil Hilley, 77 of Route 6, Middleton Community died Wednesday at the Anderson Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Elbert County and son of William Henry and Fannie Jones Hilley. He was a retired carpenter and of the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include his widow, Eunice Prince Hilley of the home; four sons George Hilley, Charles Hilley and Sidney all of Elberton, and David Hilley of Tignall; a sister Bessie Fleming of Chauncey, Ga; five grand-children.
Services were held at 2 PM Thursday at the Hicks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Mitchell Smith and Mr. Tom Langston officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Wilson, Buck Balchin, Paul Prince, Cecil Gillespie, David Gillespie and Norman Hall. Memorial may be made to the Rose E Remar Cancer Clinic at Anderson.
