William Henry McClelland was a son of Joe McClelland and Annie Jane (Davis) McClelland. This information can be seen on William's Death Certificate, shown here on this page. McClelland was spelled wrong on the Death Cerificate. The 1st L was left out, but you can see that William's son was the informant and he signed his name, McClelland. You can click below the photos to see photo of William's Gravestone, name on stone is also spelled McClelland. Gravestone Photo added by Donna McPherson.

Another mistake on the Death Cert. is birth year. According to Social Security Record William was born in 1876. Death Cert. says 1877, but that must be a mistake by the informant.

Beloved Husband, Father and grandfather. The Love and Kindness William showed to all who knew him, was a tribute to who he was. He lives on in the hearts of those that loved him.

NOTE: William also had step-grandchildren. He married a widower, the former Carrie Summerall, Turner in 1941. Carrie was mother to 7 children by Robert Henry Summerall and she was grandmother of many children including me, Juanita (Summerall) Clark. I remember my Step-grandpa William very well. He was very sweet and always glad to see us when we went to visit him and my grandmother Carrie.

TO MY 2ND GRANDPA, FROM JUANITA CLARK

My real Grandpa died, nothing I could do.
But my Grandma said, "This nice man will do."
She was right. He was just right.

He always had a smile and a hug for me.
He didn't have to get out of his chair,
to come outside to greet me.
But that is what he did, you see.

Grandpa, I looked in your eyes
and I could see,
That you really did love me.
I wish you were here, but now you are gone.
But that smile on your face, still lingers on.

Sometimes I feel all alone,
Because God called you home.
But someday I shall see you again,
In Heaven where the stars stay,
For I will be there with you one day.
