Final Rites Thursday For Lawrence

Funeral services for E.E. Lawrence, 52, of Stinnett will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. J.R. Chism, pastor of the Gardner Street Churchof Christ, offiiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett under the direction of Minton Mortuary.

Lawrence was born May 10, 1919 at Ft. Collins, Colo. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a Veteran of WW II.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred of the home; four sons, Luke of the home, Jerry of Borger, Richard of Dallas and Eddie Plumlee of Watsonville, Calif.; one daughter, Elizabeth June Spears of Stinnett; his father, Virgil E. Lawrence of Garden Grove, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Mae Hardwick of Rogers, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Donna Dannels of Rogers, Ark.

Law enforcement officers, investigating the death of two men, found in an Ada, Okla. trailer home Tuesday morning are terming the deaths an "apparent murder-suicide."

Pontotoc County District Attorney Gordon Melton, whose office conducted an investigation into the deaths, said, "our investigation into the deaths has determined that it was a murder - suicide."

Deputy Sheriff Kenneth Osborn, who is the investigating officer in the case, said Lawrence and L.K. Woods, 45, of Ada, were found dead in the Woods' trailer house early Tuesday morning after officers received a call from Lawrence's wife, who told them Woods might be in danger.

Woods, a former resident of Stinnett, who had been employed as a production superintendent for American Petro-Fina of Texas, in Ada, and Lawrence, a fork-lift operator at the Phil - Black Plant, had apparently known each other.

"It was apparently an old domestic squabble that just flared up," said Osborn.

Officers theorize that Lawrence had driven to Ada Monday, after taking off work Monday. He told his supervisor that he was going to the doctor in Amarillo.

Deputies theorize that the shooting took place after Woods arrived at his home, near 3 p.m. Monday.

Woods was ruled dead by a medical examiner by a blast from his 16 guage [sic]shotgun, Lawrence dead of a gunshot wound to the head from a 32 cal. reolver [sic].
