LEVI A. MARKHAM was 20 years old when he enlisted in the 108th Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry at Rochester, Monroe County, New York to serve three years. On July 22, 1862 he mustered into the regiment as a Private in Company ‘A'. He was wounded in action on September 17, 1862 during the Battle of Antietam. He was a Private when he was discharged for disability on November 21, 1862 at New York City.
He resided in Ovid, Michigan after the war. He died in 1905 and is buried at Oakgrove Cemetery in Owosso, Shiawassee County, Michigan.
