Roger Trimble, of Morton Park, Illinois, joined the Marines in 1943, at the age of nineteen. He attended basic training at Camp Elliott, and was assigned to Able Company, 24th Marines.
Trimble fought on Namur, Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima, where he was wounded and evacuated on February 25, 1945.
After his discharge, Trimble returned to Illinois. He died in 2005.
