Balfour-Pete D., of Salkum, died Oct. 24, 1956 at home. Born Jan. 24, 1884, in Jewel County, Kan., he came to Salkum at the age of four months, and had lived there since that time. Survivors include the widow, Bertha; three daughters, Mrs. Harriett Bullock, of Salkum, Mrs. Thelma Phillips of Chehalis, and Mrs. Julia Bergman of Brooklyn, Wash.; one son, Dick serving with the U.S. Marines in Turkey; two brothers, Guy of Warm Springs, Ore., and Fred of San Bernadino, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Dora Miller of Woodland, Mrs. Della Wallace of Portland, Mrs. Stella Jorgensen of Alaska, and Mrs. May Easly of Vancouver; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Salkum Church, with the Rev. Winters officiating. Interment will be in the Salkum Cemetery. The Cattermole Funeral Home is in charge.
