She was a career postal worker, starting as a substitute clerk in So. Ashburnham in 1956, receiving Career Status in 1965. She was named Postmaster in January 1971 and retired in June 1981. She has been active in town and church affairs. She was a member of St. Anne's Guild, the PTA, the American Legion Auxiliary, and in 4-H work.
"Buddie" served as local correspondent for a Worcester newspaper for twenty years.She died in Gardner Hospital after an illness of about three weeks. A funeral Mass was held in St Anne's Church, So.Ashburnham, with burial in St.Denis Cemetery, Ashburnham, April 13, 2002.
