Daniel E. Maines, aged 63, died Saturday at his home, 3014 Sixth avenue, after an illness of 15 months. He was born August 30, 1861. On September 29, 1885, he married Miss Sadie Lucas, of the city, who died July 12, 1923. Five brothers, J. H., of Cleveland; Wallace, of Delaware; A. P., C. E., and William, of Altoona,and one sister, Margaret, of Cleveland, survive. He was employed at the Altoona Iron Foundry and was a member of the Amalgamated Iron Workers of America. Funeral services will be held at the Stevens Mortuary Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. J. K. Knisely will officiazteand burial will be made in the Carson Valley Cemetery.

Sadie Maines, the wife of Daniel Maines, of Sixth Ave, died at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon of nephritis at the Blair County Hospital. Deceased was born at Spruce Creek Feb. 18, 1853. She was a member of the broad Avenue Methodist church.

Surviving are the husband and the following brothers and sisters; Charles, John, Samuel, and Christopher of McKeesport, Joseph of Altoona, and Mrs Elizabeth Caswell.

She was a resident of Altoona for forty- eight years.

Funeral services will be commence from the residence of her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Caswell at 2013 Eighth Ave at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Interment will be in Carson Valley Cemetery.
