I George Reed of Jackson township Northumberland County, farmer and Justice of the Peace formerly and now old, weak and sick although not of heart.
1. To wife, in the first place to have a tombstone procured to the value of $11 dollars for me,
2. I bequeath to my daughter Hannah Reed foremost forty dollars for attending to her parents.
3. Further I bequeath to my son Daniel Reed one hundred dollars
4. To my son Jonathan Reed one hundred dollars
5. Further shall all my property be made into money, and shall be equally divided into eight shares: Peter Reed; Samuel Reed; Maria Trion; Elizabeth Latsha; Catharine Reitz; Lydia Kehres (Gahres); Sarah Henninger and Hannah Reed my daughter Catharine intermarried with Samuel Reitz, not have her share as long as she lives.
7. Further is to notice that my son Samuel Reed in Illinois have already received $130 from me. I say one hundred & thirty dollars, he must be in _____ until the other heirs have as much, and then he can again come in for a share, and the
8. Daughter Hannah Reed shall hold her seat here until April 1848, and shall have wood and coal and the stove, and feed for the cattle as much as she stands in need of until April 1848. Hannah Reed shall have her dowry, one cow & hay, bed & bedstead, bureau, table, and so all what she purchased.
9.Lastly I nominate Peter Reed as my Executor to settle this my last will & testament.
