HADLEY, ALTON E. A resident of Slidell for two years, he died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at his residence of cancer. He was 64, a native of Miami, FL, and former resident of Baton Rouge. He was assistant secretary of the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Drug Abuse for six years and regional manager for 20 years. He was the beloved husband of Karen C. Hadley for 24 years; father of US Navy Lt. Cynthia Carol Hadley, MSG, and Jennifer Lynn Gauthier, El Dorado, AK; son of Mattie W. Hadley of Lakeland, FL, and the late Arthur E. Hadley; brother of Helen Sawyer and Betty Baxter, both of Lakeland, FL, and the late Ralph W. Hadley; and three grandchildren. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Slidell. He received his undergraduate degree from Florida Southern College, Lakeland, and a master's degree from Tulane University in 1966. Visitation at Immanuel Baptist Church, Slidell, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 62160 Airport Road, Slidell, LA 70460. Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home Inc., Slidell.
