Charles Giles Brockett was born in Brockett's Bridge, which is now Dolgeville. He married Sarah A. Grant on 26 Oct 1939. The cemetery lists him as Charles C. Brockett. (The tombstone is difficult to read after so many years.) Charles was one of the sons of Zephi Brockett and Sally Plant.
Charles kept a tavern and a post office at Brockett's Bridge, and he died there.
Capt. Brockett volunteered to help with the troubles at Helderberg, and his efforts resulted in a thank you from the Governor and his appointment to the command of his entire company.
