Military funeral services for Timothy A. Crumpton who died Saturday, Sept. 4, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1993 at the Vase Funeral Chapel in Rock Springs.
Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Garden sin Rock Springs with military graveside services.
Crumpton, 19, of 109 Ranchview Drive, Rock Springs, died at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 1993 at Bolo Point in Okinawa, Japan.
A former longtime resident of Rock Springs, Crumpton was snorkeling when he apparently drowned.
He was born in Butte, Mont. August 10, 1974, the son of Thomas R. Crumpton and Debra L. Gustavsen Gold. He attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate of Rock Springs High School with the class of 1992. He was a Rock Springs High School wrestler.
Crumpton was a private first class stationed with the U.S. Marine Corp in Japan at the time of his death.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Debra L. and Kenneth G. Gold; his father, Thomas R. Crumpton; three brothers, David J. Crumpton, Richard T. Crumpton and Justin D. Pyzyna, all of Rock Springs; his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Marlee Gustavsen and his paternal grandparents, Ollie and Tex Gardner, all of Butte; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
