BOUNTIFUL--Emma Fidkin Ashton Hanks, calmly left this life on Friday, December 17, 1999, on the day after her 96th birthday. She was born December 16, 1903, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to George Savage and Leah Rebecca Fidkin Ashton.
She graduated from LDS High School and went on to receive her Normal teaching certificate from the University of Utah. Emma taught school for a number of years.
She also taught many private piano students. She served as a ward organist for over 80 years. She served others in Relief Society and other organizations.
She married Lincoln F. Hanks on May 16, 1928, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised five children in Salt Lake City.
