June Laveta Cannaday Deal, 72, formerly of Fieldale, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Stanleytown Health Care.
A Franklin County native, she was born on June 26, 1931, a daughter of Roy Lee Cannaday and Eula May Hollandsworth Cannaday. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Cannaday; and a sister, Nina Sue Jefferson.
She had worked at Lacy Manufacturing, DuPont and Sara Lee, and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, George Herman Deal of Stanleytown Health Care, she is survived by one son, Richard Lee Wiggington of Patrick Springs; a stepson, Roger Deal of Martinsville; one grandson; and one sister, Lola Huff of Martinsville.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bassett Funeral Service chapel with the Rev. Rick Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Henry Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Bassett Funeral Service from 79 p.m. today, and other times at the Deal home at 52 Kogertown Road, Fieldale
