STAUNTON-Charles B. Bailey Jr., of Baltimore, Md., 49, died Wednesday afternoon in the Fort Howard Veterans Hospital in Baltimore, after a long illness.
Mr. Bailey was born in Staunton, April 17, 1907, a son of the late Charles B. and Frances Baber Bailey. For a number of years he was a member of Company "L" 29th Infantry Division, Virginia National Guard and was a veteran of World War II.
He operated a photographic studio in Baltimore.
Survivors include: One daughter, Joan Bailey, two son, Donald and Dawn, all of Baltimore; five sisters, Mrs. John G. Parker, Mrs. Hiram Wakefield, both of Baltimore; Mrs. James Farror, of Millersburg, Ky., Mrs. C. B. Bridge, Waynesboro and Mrs. Bernard Parrish, of Staunton. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will be brought to Hamrick Funeral Home in Staunton where funeral services will be held Saturday morning, August 18, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. H. H. Gordon, DD., pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro.
Active pallbearers include: P. D. Scnell, Russell Snow, William Phillips, Raymond McLear, John Hansen, Paul Miller, W. R. Parrish, and Hughes Gaylor. Honorary pallbearers are Howard Bridge, Donald R. Bridge, Louis Farley, George Grove, George McLear, George Grove Jr., Jack Fisher.
Interment will be in Thornrose Cemetery.
