A. Bergliot Langlie died Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN, 18 days after her 90th birthday.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, April 4, 2003 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend John Wollenzien officiating. Burial will be at Emardville Cemetery, Plummer, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Anna "Bergie" Langlie was born March 15, 1913, to Olaf and Bergit (Hemmestveit) Langlie in Plummer, MN, where she was baptized, confirmed, and graduated from Pershing High School. She attended Bemidji State Teachers College, where she earned a teaching certificate and San Diego State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. She taught school in Badger and McIntosh, MN and San Diego, CA.

Early in WWII, Bergie went to work in an aircraft factory in San Diego, CA, a city where she remained for over fifty years. After the war she resumed her teaching career and taught first grade until her retirement.

Her passions were her Lutheran and Norwegian heritage, travel and walking. She traveled all over the world: Asia, Africa, Australia, the Arctic Circle, Europe and North America. In 1998, she moved to Thief River Falls, MN to be closer to family and lived there until she died.

She is survived by brothers, Tuss (Verna), St. Augustine, FL, Ed (Ardith), Thief River Falls, MN and Gordon Langlie, Roseau, MN as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Bjorkman, an infant brother, Alfred, and a sister-in-law, Lola Langlie.
