Bio: Funeral services for Murry Chandler were held on Sunday, July 20, 2003 at 3 p.m. in the Siloam Baptist Church at Gansville, LA. Officiating were Revs. Charlie Hammons and Rayford Chandler. Burial was in the Siloam Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield.

Mr. Chandler, age 82 of Dodson, LA died Fiday, July 18, 2003 in the Parkview Care Center in Winnfield.

Mr. Chandler was born in Winn Parish and was the son of Charles Samuel and Effie Mae Caskey Chandler. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in World War II in the South Pacific in the Seabees. He was a member of the Siloam Baptist Church and served on the Winn Parish School Board for 22 years. He was retired from Continental Can of Hodge, LA in the Winnfield District.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Effie and Charlie Chandler, one sister, Margie Green, and two brothers, J.A. Chandler and Ray Chandler.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Lewis Chandler of Dodson, LA; one son, David Chandler and his wife Sharon of Grapevine, TX; granddaughter, Lisa Delaune of Houston, TX and two great grandchildren, Chandler Quinn Smith and Louis Nicholas Delaune, and numerous nieces and nephews.
