James Joseph Sweeney...Son of Edward Daniel Sweeney and Margaret Sweeney nee Kiley.(Both buried in St Patrick's Cemetery, Pierce City, Lawrence Co, MO.)
James married Rose Mary Petlow on 15 April 1944.
James was a Foreman for US Steel.
He and Rose Mary had four children....One, Mary Margaret Sweeney is also buried in Calumet Park Cemetery.

Obituary:
James J. Sweeney Sr.,80, of Wentworth, died at 8:45 a.m.,Saturday at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born April 11, 1896 in Wentworth,Mo. He was a retired steel employee of Gary, Ind. He was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church. His wife Rose Sweeney, died in 1958.
He is survived by two sons, James J. Sweeney,Canada, and John M. Sweeney, of the home; three daughters, Miss Mary Margaret Sweeney of the home, Miss Rosemary Sweeney, Columbia, and Miss Mary Agnes Sweeney,of Monett,and two sisters, Mrs Mae Gasser, Cherryvale,Kan. and Mrs Agnes Pelsue, Wentworth.
Final rites were held at 10 a.m.,Monday,at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Father Ted Wendoloski officiating.
The body was taken to Gary, Indiana, for burial.
Arrangements were under direction of Wessell Funeral Home.
