Estanislao (Stan) Belio was born Nov. 13, 1892 in Isaba, Spain, of Basque heritage. He came to the U.S. in 1911, to Vaughn, NM, where his step-brother Benito Nicolao lived. He married Epifania (Fannie) Fresquez and they adopted four children: Charlotte, Ruth, Mary, and Frank, and made their home in Carrizozo. All but Ruth moved to southern California later on. Stan died in Dec. 1966.

Fannie was born June 13, 1906. In her later years, she lived with her daughter Charlotte in Chula Vista, Calif. where she died Feb. 8, 1989.

Frank moved back to NM in the 1980s (I think) where he lives with his second wife Evelyn. His three sons still live in San Diego Co.

There are no other Belio's living in NM (neither of Stan's brothers, Tiburcio or Roberto, had children to pass on the family name). Stan's sister Justina lived in southern California where her two daughters and their children still live; Elena remained in Isaba; and Illuminada moved to Chile (2 other sisters died young).
