TWO-YEAR-OLD CHILD SCALDED TO DEATH

Dwain Blankenship, little two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Blankenship, who live on the McAnelly place, south of town, was fatally scalded last Wednesday. The child was playing on the floor before the open fireplace where a lard can full of water had been placed on the fire to heat. The water was boiling hot when the sticks burned away under it and let the can tip over, dashing the water on the little boy. He was burned all over except his head and the burns were so severe that the little fellow passed away Friday morning in spite of all Dr. Herron and the parents could do for him. The remains were conveyed to Hazleton, where the family formerly lived. Burial took place Saturday. This is indeed a very sad accident and our sympathy goes out to the bereaved parents and to the two sisters and two brothers who mourn the loss of their little one.
