BEVERLY J. HENRY

Beverly J. Henry, 80, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Gloversville on February 24, 1928, the daughter of the late George and Ellen (Nichols) Wager.

Beverly was a lifelong resident of Johnstown. She married Harold "Hank" Henry on March 10, 1947. They raised fifteen children and shared 61 years of marriage until Hank passed away on September 21, 2007.

Beverly was a former member of Post No. 472 American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Johnstown Reformed Church. She loved to cook. Her family was her life.

Survivors include her fifteen children, Richard Henry (Rose), David (Janet) Henry, Linda (Rick) Rendo, Sandra Wasson (Nunzio), Beverly Gillespie (Phil), Darrell Henry, Gary (Julie) Henry, Dan (Mary Ellen) Henry, Dale (Patty) Henry, Deborah (Robert) Blayzor, Pamela (Harold) Bell, Mark Henry (Dawn), Hope Henry, Robert Henry (Martha) and Janet Henry; a brother, Donald Wager; two sisters, Janet Serviss and Carol Kuntzsch; twenty-four grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her three dogs, Tina Marie, Isaac Garth and Gertie.

She was predeceased three brothers, George, William and Robert Wager; and a sister, Mary Ellen Ringler.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. from the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home in Gloversville. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Dykema of the Johnstown Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Beverly's memory to the Wells Nursing Home, 201 W. Madison Ave., Johnstown, NY 12095.
