Excerpt from record book (dating from 1905) of the Catharine Greene Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), which is on file at the Greene County Historical Society, Xenia, Greene County, Ohio:

"Hagar. Died at the home of her brother, Dr. Sam'l Stewart, Topeka, Kansas. Mrs. Mary L. Stewart Hagar, widow of the late Edwin W. Hagar.
Mrs. Hagar had been in delicate health for some time and had gone to her brother's home for treatment.
Mrs. Hagar became a member of the Catharine Greene Chapter Oct. 4, 1899.
Burial at Xenia, Ohio.
