OBITUARY - WILLIAM FRANKLIN BOHNER
JANUARY 05, 1862 - JANUARY 28, 1937


William Franklin "Frank" Bohner, age 75, died Jan 29, 1937, of pneumonia at Des Moines Broadlawns Hospital. Lilly Funeral Home handled arrangements with burial in Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Dallas County, Iowa.

Frank was survived by four sons, Robert, Arthur, Clifford, and Fred; four daughters, Mae Bohner Erickson, Edna Bohner Lair, Lillian Bohner McGuire and Dorothy Bohner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Caziah Stamm Bohner; three daughters, Margaret Bohner Riffle, Sarah Anna Bohner and Grace Louise Bohner

BIOGRAPHY

On January 5, 1862, William Franklin "Frank" Bohner, the only child of Abraham and Casiah Stamm Bohner was born in Mifflin Twp, Dauphin Co, Pa.

On Oct 4, 1884, Frank married Sarah Elizabeth Buffington in Pennsylvania. Sarah was the daughter of Elias and Sarah Shafer Buffington of Berrysburg, Mifflin Twp, PA

In about April 1897, Frank Bohner, his wife Sarah and their 6 children, Margaret, Anna, Mae, Robert, Edna and Arthur, moved from PA to Perry, Iowa where they farmed.

Sometime between April and November 1904, Frank, Sarah and 8 of their children, Margaret, Anna, Mae, Robert, Edna, Arthur, Clifford and Fred moved to Des Moines, Iowa where Frank operated a grocery and provisions store at 311 9th St. He also worked as a DM & Central Railway laborer, operated a boarding house, and worked as a Teamster.

In 1912, Frank, his wife Sarah and their 3 youngest children, Fred, Lillian & Dorothy, moved back to farm near the Perry/Bouton, Iowa

After the death of his wife, Sarah, Frank lived at various times with his children until his death.
