Born: Gars Am Inn Bavaria. Apprenticed as a hatter in Gars Bavaria, immigrated to Baltimore 16 Aug. 1846 on Sir Isaac Newton. Apprenticed blacksmith: Clearfield Co. PA, Married: 11 May 1858, St. Severin Church, Coopers Settlement, Drifting PA. Traveled to MN in 1855. Moved to MN in 1858. Had blacksmith shop and wagon works across from St. Joseph Church. State Representative district 40, 1883-1885(session 23, served on Mines and minerals-State normal schools committees). Re-elected for session 24, 1885 - 1887 (served on Immigration and incorporation committees ) . Marker in Capser plot next to wife Mary Anne.
