---Mrs. Nancy C. James was born June 20, 1872; died at the home of her sister, Mrs. J.D. Russell, near Elmer, Missouri on March 30, 1918.
---She was married to Thomas James in 1898. To this union were born nine children, three of whom preceded her to the better world.
---Mrs. James was the daughter of William D. Allen of near Elmer. She leaves to mourn her departure, six sons, William, Glen, Claude, James, John and George; five sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Russell and Mrs. Anna Osborn of Yarrow, Mrs. Verna Wilson of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Eva Hughes of Elmer and Mrs. Maggie Williams of La Plata; five brothers, Ben Allen of Oklahoma, James, Cecil, Willie and Harvey Allen of Elmer.
---Funeral services were held at the Elmer Christian Church Monday. The interment was made in Elmer Cemetery.
