Marilyn Beth (Riley) Crocker passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at her home in Iona. She was born March 25, 1948, in Beloit, Kan., to Cleo and Velva Riley. Marilyn grew up in Beloit and graduated from Beloit High School in May of 1966. Marilyn continued school and in May of 1972, she graduated from Kansas State Teacher's College of Emporia, Kan. She married William H. Crocker on May 31, 1970, in Beloit, and they were later sealed in the Manti Temple on May 31, 1974. Marilyn taught private violin lessons to hundreds of students throughout the years. She was a member of numerous community symphonies, including the Idaho Falls Symphony for the last eight seasons. Marilyn was also a member of the Iona Lions Club. She worked at Journeys DDA in Rigby. Marilyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints. Her hobbies and interests included playing the violin, piano and singing. She loved the visual arts as well. She loved having her family around her. Her greatest hobby was helping others. Marilyn was a sensitive, caring person who was always reaching out to others and making their lives better. She had a special way of helping others to see the beauty in all settings and build upon it. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
