Mambo Dancer. Born in Puerto Rico, he was referred to as "the greatest Mambo dancer ever" by Latin jazz and Mambo musician Tito Puente and Life Magazine. He got his nickname, "Cuban Pete", from the classic Mambo song Cuban Pete by Desi Arnaz. He won numerous Latin dancing awards with his early dance partner, Millie Donay, during the 1950's. Besides countless performances at many high profile venues over his career, Aguilar performed twice at the White House, once for President Dwight D. Eisenhower and again for President Lyndon B. Johnson. He also performed for Queen Elizabeth of England and Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion. Aguilar was a choreographer and consultant for the 1992 movie, "The Mambo Kings". He is the only Latin dancer recognized in the Latin Jazz exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution. Barbara Craddock was his last dance partner and was also his manager. The two of them were inducted into the International Latin Music Hall of Fame. Cuban Pete died from heart failure.
