He was born July 12, 1937, in Port Arthur where he resided all of his life. He was the owner and operator of Abate Bros. Sign Co. for 33 years and the Gun Rack for 17 years. He was involved in dirt track racing for several years, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Burial will be at Memory Garden Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lucille Abate and brother, Luther A. Abate. Abe is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Abate of Port Arthur, son, Victor J. "Abe" Abate II and wife Shana of Groves; brother, Ronnie Abate and wife Joyce of Port Arthur; sister, Ginger Abate Wilson and husband Jim of Port Arthur; sister-in-law, Lita Abate of Port Arthur; grandsons, Cameron and Ryan Abate of Groves; and many nieces and nephews.
