------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She died early Friday morning at her home, at she had been critically ill since Sunday and had been in bad health for some years.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mrs. D'Antoni and her husband conducted a grocery in Brookhaven until age compelled their retirement, in Brookhaven, MS, 111 Railroad Ave, they also lived in the back of the store. In later years, a store was operated at 617 South First St in Brookhaven,MS.They remained in this location until there death.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She never learned English and only spoke Italian.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Married April 15, 1901 in Brookhaven, Lincoln County, MS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Rosa was born, her dad was 38 years old and her mother 37 years old. Her dad was a sailor, in Cefalu,Sicily.

Rosa, sailed from the port of Naples on the Neustria, which let Naples on February 26, 1901& arrived in New York on March 13, 1901.
She did not disembark, she stayed aboard and went to New Orleans, LA, as her final destination. She was traveling with Rosario Conare, and his wife Rosa.

In later years this same ship was lost in 1909 without a trace in the North Atlantic.

Regarding the parents of Rosa, Vincenzo Fertitta and Salvatora Liberto, I am guessing they were born sometime in the 1830's or 1840's, I know looking at records, they were alive in 1893 when their daughter Angela got married. Death records searched between 1893 and 1910, the last year available. There are several possibilities
# they lived a good long life and died after 1910
# they left italy, not likely, considering their age
# the town official listed them incorrectly or eliminated them from the annual or decennial index, which has been know to happen
( this means you would need to go to the Cefalu cemetery to look for them.)
ROSA IS THE MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER OF ROBBIE WILFRED ARNOLD OF BROOKHAVEN, LINCOLN, MS

BIRTH RECORD REFLECTS OCTOBER 15 1865

BIRTH PLACE

Cefalù

Cefalù is a city and comune in the Province of Palermo, located on the northern coast of Sicily, Italy on the Tyrrhenian Sea about 70 kilometres east of the provincial capital and 185 kilometres west of Messina. The town, with its population of just under 14,000, is one of the major tourist attractions in the region. Despite its size, every year it attracts millions of tourists from all parts of Sicily and also, from all over Italy and Europe. In summer the population can triple, making the main streets and major roads in the country crowded. There is then a youthful atmosphere and a lively nightlife.

Additional info...it may be that she was going to Baltimore, Maryland, since she had sisters there at the time, not sure, but possible, that one of her brother-in- law"s was Giuseppe D'Anna, this is additional info is not verified.
