J.D. Driskill
GRAND RIVERS, Ky.--Services for J.D. Driskill, 78, of Grand Rivers will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland with the Rev. Bobby Strong officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery.
Mr. Driskill died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.
A 50-year member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union No. 816, he served as electrical supervisor at Tennessee Valley Authority for 40 years. He was a member of Concord Assembly of God.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Mallory of Mayfield and Nana Jean White of Atlanta; two sons, Jonathan Driskill of Paducah and Calvin Mallory of Mayfield; four brothers, Arnold Driskill of Calvert City, Aretus Driskill of Smithland, Hubert Driskill of Grand Rivers and Ronald Driskill of Evansville, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Omeda Day Driskill; and one son, Mark Anthony Driskill. His parents were Avery and Flora Southern Driskill. Grandparents were Charlie and Idella Driskill and William and Katie Southern.

Daddy was A big lover of hamburgers especially Burger King whoppers. One time him and my husband took a trip to Memphis,Tn and on the way home they seen a Burger King that had burgers 10/ $10.00 Daddy got 10 to take home with him and before they got home Seen another store and he got 10 more, and a couple of days they were all gone.
My son Joey always loved to tease him by saying " Paw I stopped and got me and you a whopper but I ate yours before I got home. Joey would always eat something out of a bag of stuff that was bought for him apples, oranges, or a box of moon pies Joey would, would always get one and say "Paw I ate one"
IT seems that Daddy knew only one joke like story to tell because every time the family got together and start telling stories and jokes
daddy would tell the same one every time, and mama would tell him "J.D. you have told that enough," but daddy would keep on telling it like it was the first time he ever told it and laugh so hard he couldn't hardly talk .
