Delphine was the 4th child born to William David and Valiska Meister Rockemann. Delphine graduated from union Center High School in 1937. She married Milton Ava Essex on August 26, 1940 at Blue Springs, Nebraska. They lived most of their married life in San Diego County with a short time in Nebraska during WWII. Delphine was a homemaker for many years but began her working life at Rohr Aircraft in Chula Visa. One daughter and one son were born to this marriage.
