James E. Casler, 69, Plainfield, died Monday Oct. 13, 1997 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Madison. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Evergreen Assembly of God Church, Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Thomas Edwards and the Rev. Nathan Byer will officiate. Mr. Casler will be cremated. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and also from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church. The Gasperic Funeral Home of Plainfield is assisting with arrangements. Mr. Casler was born March 17, 1928, in the town of Pine Grove to the late Carl and Estella (Ostrander) Casler. His marriage to Doris Krubsack ended in divorce. Mr. Casler served as corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Georgia-Pacific for 30 years. Survivors include two daughters, Amy (Lyle) Stoflet and Letty (Daniel) Demski, both of Wisconsin Rapids; one son, Paul W. Casler, Madison; one sister, Joyce Klinger, Wautoma; and three grandchildren."
