James L. Barron, 92, of Lancaster, formerly of Haydenville, passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. He was born December 28, 1916 in Nelsonville, Ohio, son of the late John Robert and Lydia Six Barron. He was married to Martha Monk Barron, who survives, for 62 years.

James retired from the Coffman Stair Co. in Logan and was a World War II veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol (Eugene) Konkler of Lancaster and Nancy (Robert) Burgess of Gahanna; two grandchildren, Christina (Jim) Nelms and James (Megan) Konkler both of Lancaster; 3 great grandchildren, Bailey, Pehrson and Jaxon; a sister, Vivian McQuaid of Haydenville and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Porter, Robert, Donald, and William Barron; sisters, Irene, Blanche and Mildred and an infant daughter, Wanda Barron.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Souers-Cardaras, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville with Rev. Karen Walters officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville where a military gravesite service will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call Wednesday, January, 14, 2009 from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
