Departed this life in Somerville, Ala, at the residence of John F. Barker, 23rd September, Mrs Susan H. Rather, wife of Capt. John T. Rather, of Decatur, in her 49th year. She was the daughter of Philagaetius and Margaret Roberts of Culpepper Co, VA. She came to Alabama with her brother-in-law, Mr. Banks, in 1826. She was united in marriage to her surviving husband, Oct 29, 1830. She joined M. E. Church in 1829.
