Annie Yvonne White Lewis, 86, beloved wife and best friend of Eldon J. Lewis for nearly 70 years, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2014 surrounded by the ones she laughed with, lived for, and loved.

Born in Cogdell, Georgia December 15, 1927, Yvonne was the youngest and last surviving child of Charlie Sylvester White and Zilphia Melinda May White. She is predeceased by a son, Ralphael Eldon Lewis, her sisters Floria B. Harrell (Pete), Erma Ruth White (Herbert), Leona Dixon (Eddie), Louvelle Fullard (Junior), Hazel Nadine Turner (William), and brothers J. B. White, and Charlie Edward White (Merlene).

Survivors include her children that she was very proud of, Wanda Vernice Lewis Gailey (Bill), Charlie Elvin Lewis (Fran), Sophia Bonita Lewis Smith (Derrell) and Eldon Jefferson "Jeff" Lewis, Jr. (Amy), her 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Yvonne was a full-time wife and mother, known far and wide as an unbeatable cook and hostess. For over 33 years she was an integral part of their Church of God of Prophecy pastoral ministry teaching Sunday School, youth, and even starting a Special Needs class. Her great love of music showed in the way she sang, played the piano, and directed many children's musicals. She was diligent, teaching her children to sing and, because of her, each plays one or more musical instruments.

Yvonne was an incredibly intelligent woman, a plain-spoken jokester with a quick wit and ready laugh. She loved God and did her best to share that love with others through word, song, and deed. She believed you are never too old to learn, so she learned to type and play piano in her adult years.

Visitation will be Sunday evening (May 18, 2014) from 6-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, 136 Satilla Ave. Nahunta GA 31553.

A funeral service will be held Monday morning (May 19, 2014) at 11am at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. H.E. Cardin officiating. Burial will be in Rob Lewis Cemetery in Raybon. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Bayview Nursing Home, Nahunta. For more than five years, their dedication and quality care were a heartwarming blessing to the entire Lewis family.
