She was born in Grenada, raised in Cleveland, and was a resident of Memphis, Tenn., for the past 50 years. She was a Christian by faith and a member of the Kirby Woods Baptist Church. She was very generous and always willing to help others. She received numerous awards in recognition for her charity work in the community.
She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Powell; her mother, Ivy Bell Powell; three sisters, Gladys Turner, Ruby Soloman and Mickey Bishop; and brother, Buddy Powell. She was the wife of the late J.E. "Dude" Klutts Sr.
She is survived by; son J.E. "Dude" Klutts Jr. (Gayle); grandson, Chadwick Jake Klutts and several nieces and nephews.
