Carla Lynn (Nelson) Fike, former Ponca City resident, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 1995, in Oklahoma City as the result of injuries received in a auto/train accident. She was 42.
The funeral will be held at 2 P.M. Friday in the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, U.S. 60 and East Victory Street, with the Rev. David Stuart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.
Carla Lynn (Nelson) Fike was born April 1, 1952, in Ponca City, the Daughter of Hand and Ann (Burley) Nelson. She attended Ponca City schools, and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1970. After graduation, she was employed at Jack Rein Insurance Company. She married in 1972, then returned to Ponca City in 1976.
Mrs. Fike was employed at Conoco, in the computer department, in 1977. She retired in 1994, and moved to Oklahoma City. At the time of her death, she was employed by Fifth Season's Motel and was attending Rose State College to earn a degree as nutritionist/personal trainer.
Survivors include two daughters, April Fike of Oklahoma City and Jennifer (Fike) Hoddy of Ponca City: four sisters, Rita Caudill, Darlene Duncan, Peggy Epperson, all of Ponca City, and Sherry Burdick of Mulvane, Kan.; one brother, John Nelson of Manford; one grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers; and one nephew.
