She was born December 20, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York to Einar and Clara Olsen, was graduated from Cranford High School, Cranford, NJ and had been an area resident since 1946.
Mrs. Lanker served in the U S Navy Waves during WWII.
She was a member of First Alliance Church, Mansfield, where she sang in the choir, was active in Pioneer Girls and Alliance Women.
A homemaker, Mrs. Lanker was a very caring and giving person. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, having made and given away over 80 afghans.
A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband Dr. Wesley G. Lanker, whom she married Sept. 14, 1946; a son & daughter-in-law Jon W. & Deborah Lanker of Mt. Gilead; three daughters & sons-in-law Joann R. & Dan Williams of Lexington, Arlene H. & Louis Hahn of Waxahachie, TX and Susan E. & Charles Walker of Lexington; a nephew that she raised Eric Gundersen of Lexington; ten grandchildren Jon and Ben Lanker, Tim, James and Christy Williams, Nathan and Kelsie Hahn, and Shaun, Jonathan and Logan Walker; a sister Norma Johnsen of Leonardo, NJ; and a sister-in-law Bea Olsen of Danby, VT.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call Sunday August 26, 2001 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday Aug. 27 at 10:30 AM at First Alliance Church, 291 West Cook Road, Mansfield. Pastors Charles R. Holmes, Kevin R. Crawford and Cecil Nichols will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
