Mrs Mary Casler, 87, town of Pine Grove, died Sunday night at 11:45 at St. Michaels hospital from the effects of a hip fracture suffered March 31. Mrs Casler broke her hip when she fell at the home of her son, Carl, Pine Grove, with whom she had been staying. A native of Germany, she had lived in the Plainfield and Pine Grove area for 70 years. She was born Sept.7, 1866, a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Henry Gruber. She came to this country at the age of 16, settling in Plainfield. On Feb.17, 1890, she was married to Edwin O. Casler, and since then has lived in Pine Grove. Mr Casler died April 2, 1942. Survivors include two sons, Harold and Carl, both of Pine Grove; eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. No date has been set for the funeral. The services will be held at the Goult funeral home, Plainfield, with Rev. Granville Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in the Bluff cemetery.
