His parents were Lester and Eva (Blair) Borgwardt. They were Lutheran and Catholic. He played several sports while in High School and joined the Army instead of going to college.
We always thought his name was spelled wrong on the headstone, but in looking into his life, his high school year book and his DD 214, and his birth certificate his name is actually spelled correctly as written here. ©RoxAnna L Foudray 2014
Funeral servies for Lawrence L Borgwardt will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Hobart Catron Chapel with interment in Black Hills National Cemetery. Borgwardt was electroncuted during a construction job near Broadus, Mont. Thursday. He was born June 25, 1933 at Princeton, Minn., where he attended schools. He served during the Korean War and in 1958 married Sylvia Oleson at Woonsocket, S.D. They lived recently at Boadus. Survivors include: his widow, five children, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Borgwardt of Princeton, three brothers and three sisters.
