Services for Eugene.Breemes,56,of Rapid City,are scheduled for 10 a.m.Tuesday at he Calvary LutheranChurch of Rapid City with the Rev.Larry.Dahlstrom officiating.

Burial will be in Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis under direction of Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to the church and an athletic fund.

Breemes died Saturday at Rapid City Regional Hospital.He was born May 19,1926 at Philip,where he graduated from High School.He served in the U.S.Navy from 1944 - 1946.

He married Ruthelma.Carlson Aug,7,1947 at Philip.He graduated from Black Hills State College in 1950 with a bachelor's degree and taught and coached Hurley High School from1950 - 1952. he received his master'sdegree at the University of South
Dakota at Vermillion and taught and coached at Beresford from 1952 - 1957.

The couple moved to Rapid City in 1957 where he taught American History,
government and psychology at Rapid City High School until 1969. He served as assistant track and basketball coach.He transferred to Steven's High School in 1969 where he served as headtrack coach.

Breemes was named Boys Track Coach of the Year in 1971 by the SouthDakota High School Athletic Asscia-tion.In 1978 and 1979 he was named South Dakota Girl's Cross Country Coach of the Year.He received his 25-year coaching award from the South Dakota High School Coach's Associa-tion.In 1976 and 1977 he was namedthe South Dakota Sportswriters'association Coach of the Year.He wasnominated by theState High SchoolCoach's for National Track Coach ofthe Year in 1980.

Breemes coached boy's state trackChampionship teams in 1971 and from1977 to 1982.Stevens High School boy's Cross Country teams under his directionwon the State title in 1980 and 1981,and the girls cross country teams won the State title from 1977 to 1979.

He was a member of the CalvaryLutheran Church,South Dakota High
School Coaches Association,Black Hills Coaches Association,Elks Lodge 1187
and the Masonic Lodge of Beresford.

Breemes is survived by his wife,one son,one daughter,one granddaughter,,and one
sister.
